We are happy and proud to present our brand new surf house, NGOR RIGHT SURF HOUSE, located on the island of Ngor
Ngor Island is a surfer’s paradise. This small, magical island is cradled by the ocean and the waves. The islander’s lives are lived to the rhythm of the sea and the ebb of flow of the tides. The islanders enjoy surfing, the beach, fishing, boating, and collecting sea shells. Ngor Island enjoys consistent swell throughout the year.
The vibe you feel on Ngor Island is unique to West Africa. The island is very small, serene, charming and protected from the hustle of the city. The Islanders all know each other and life is peaceful.
NGOR RIGHT SURF HOUSE has been open since January 1, 2022 and is new, modern, comfortable and super functional.
The house is located by a beautiful little beach called “The Third Beach” and is on a cliff that overlooks the famous Ngor Right wave.
Ngor Right Surf House is the perfect place to be able to enjoy all the waves Dakar has to offer.
The waves of Les Almadies or Le Virage are 5 minutes by car, Ouakam is 10 minutes, and Ngor Right and Left is in our backyard!

The SURF HOUSE can accommodate a maximum of ten people. The house has its own kitchen which is fully equipped and open to the living room. The kitchen is available for your use if the entire SURF HOUSE if rented. We can also recommend a local cook for your stay who will delight you with delicious typical Senegalese specialities!
If you rent a room or share the SURF HOUSE with other surfers, a breakfast buffet will be provided.
There is a small grocery store close to the house where you can purchase basic products. There are also several restaurants all within a 3 minute walk from the SURF HOUSE.
We provide sheets, but not bath towels or beach towels.
The house is surrounded by a garden of approximately 300 m2 that is welcoming, peaceful and tranquil. You can relax, read or rest between sessions. You can also enjoy your lunch outside at our outdoor table.
There is also a beautiful terrace upstairs with an amazing view of the sea. You will be able to enjoy the magnificent sunsets with an unobstructed view. About twenty meters from the house, you can admire the legendary spot of Ngor Right from the top of the cliff!
The Ngor Right SURF HOUSE also offers yoga, meditation and Pilates classes with Yama. Yama is a surfer and will adapt her lesson to your needs and is able to accommodate classes to when you want; before or after a session, during a rest day, early in the morning or at the magic hour of sunset, when the SURF HOUSE is bathed in golden light.
There is no Fire Department on the Island of Ngor so the Surf House is a Non Smoking area. It’s better for your safety and your health!

Who are we?
Meet the Kirié family!
Francois, Yama, Shane and Maria.
We built the SURF HOUSE reflecting who we are; ocean enthusiasts, warm and bright!
We welcome other ocean enthusiasts and want to share our passion for surfing, happiness and Senegalese hospitality.
François moved to Senegal in 1999. He discovered the incredible Ngor Right wave just off the island and he never left.
Francois has brought surfers from all over the world to Senegal and has organized memorable surf trips for more than 20 years.
He is also the owner of the SURF-ATTITUDE Surf School founded in 2000 and based in Almadies.
Francois has traveled to over thirty countries looking for waves, secret spots and adventures. Francois has also competed at the national level in France and Senegal and is an ISA LEVEL 1 and 2 surf instructor.
Yama also shares a passion for the ocean and nature. She is originally from the village of Ngor which is an artisanal fishing village directly across the bay. Yama grew up lulled by the sound of the waves and with the sea as her playground. Surfer, yoga and Pilates teacher, Yama loves to teach and share her passions.
Yama hold is a graduate of the French Federation of Green Yoga.
SPOTS & TRIP
Dakar is located in a magical spot-the western most peninsula of the African continent where you can find waves for everyone; all levels, all swell directions and for all your surfing tastes from beach breaks, point breaks and reef breaks
At the foot of the Cliffs of Mamelles and the Oukam Mosque, is barreling OUAKAM. This amazing wave offers advanced and expert surfers endless barrels and an incredible ambience of local fishermen and Senegal’s picturesque pirogues.
The Almadies neighborhood offers several reef breaks for intermediate to expert surfers. The Almadies breaks consist of Secret Spot, Vivier Right, Vivier Left and Club Med and other breaks depending on the swell.
Directly in front of the surf house, the famous Ngor Right (of Endless Summer fame!) offers a long, right hand reef break. The inside peak of this beautiful and powerful wave is a dream for advanced and expert surfers. The shoulder peak is great for intermediate surfers as well. Our skipper will take you out in the boat and will anchor in the pass at the end of the wave for your safety and security.
Ngor Left is also right around the corner from our surf house. Ngor Left is a super fun left hand reef break but less consistent than Ngor Right.
Beginners and Long Boarders will love Virage beach, located about 10 minutes from the island. Virage is a fun, spunky beach break with long right handers and a super fun African beach vibe and one of Dakar’s first zero waste restaurants.
For those who want to enjoy West African culture, you can explore the villages and beaches on the outskirts of Dakar. You can vibe on unspoiled and uncrowded waves and beaches all along the coast that is known for its majestic baobabs, warm friendly smiles and the vibrant colors of the African coast. You can surf all day and then enjoy a barbecue on the beach at one of the many local spots along the coast.

The surf conditions on the peninsula of Dakar vary greatly. It is rare to surf the same spot all day. Pantcho is here to take into account the direction and size of the waves, tides, strength and wind direction in a way only someone who knows the area inside and out could measure.
With accessible means of transport by boat and truck, you are guaranteed to surf the best waves at the best time.
We can also arrange all day surf-trips to the coast further north or south of the country, just 100 km from the Boardriders House.

By early morning the team have already checked the surf and is ready to take you to the best spot considering wave conditions and your surf level. The rest of the day will depend on you, we are at your disposal!
